No.  We have many private patients that simply choose to ring us and book an appointment. 

The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the practitioner will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.

Personal Trainers are taught how to train the healthy population and can receive their qualifications by completing an 8 week course. An Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP’s) are university qualified allied health professionals, having completed a minimum of 4-5 years of tertiary education meeting stringent criteria for accreditation through Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA). Prior to accreditation a minimum of 500 hours of work experience must be completed. AEP’s are the most highly qualified exercise professionals in Australia and specialise in prescribing clinical exercise programs for the treatment and prevention of injuries and chronic conditions.

A thorough assessment to learn about your:

  • Medical history (if any): this includes lifestyle, medications and daily physical requirements.
  • Physical capacity: this may include a movement analysis and strength testing to determine safe and effective exercise prescription.
  • Psychosocial influences: this takes into account any beliefs you may already have about your health/injury, any barriers you may have towards exercise and how much support you have/need to be successful in implementing a change.
  • Goals: this helps to establish what you want to be able to achieve from your treatment/exercise short and long term.

We will also provide you with:

  • Education: about your injury/condition and why exercise is beneficial for you. Additional resources which may provide information to help you. If you don’t have an injury or medical condition, we will also educate you about safe and effective training, proper techniques and how you can maximise your workouts while avoiding injury and improving your overall health.
  • Individualised Exercise Program: A tailored program for you based on your medical history, physical capacity, psychosocial influences and goals. This program can be gym based, home based, or both.

Implement your personalised exercise program, ensuring correct and safe technique, exercise progression, ongoing advice regarding self-management strategies, and goal setting. Continued communication with your other health professionals (e.g Doctor) to ensure the best treatment for you.
